- RefWorld - RefWorld is UNHCR's online collection of country of origin and legal information.

- Reflink - Reflink, maintained by UNHCR, contains an extensive set of categorized links to sites relevant to COI research.
- Council of Europe - CoE reports on torture human rights in 45 European countries. See also the Committee to Prevent Torture (CPT).

- Amnesty International - Amnesty is a human rights organization. It undertakes extensive reporting of human rights abuses in most countries.
- Global Internally Displaced People Project - Global IDP Project contains over 50 country profiles focusing on the country's IDP situation and background.
- Human Rights Watch - HRW reports on human rights abuses world wide. It is particularly active in emerging crises.
